Boo Hoo is a term to describe someone crying or sobbing or say it aloud in an affected way to convey sadness or disappointment. Haven’t we had days when our skin is dried out and you think what I can do to put on and relieve it. It’s those little problems that can really annoy us.
Well this salve is made with enriching oils like aloe vera, macadamia and avocado and soothing oils like comfrey and calendula. It’s also made from essential oils that are derived from plants, and each oil has different healing properties.
This is perfect for dry hands, elbows or feet and anyone can use it. Also if you have seen too much sun or a child has nappy rash, been bitten by mosquitos or cramps in legs. It’s uses is endless for all those small situations.
Olive Oil – has a long, rich history. It’s not only used as a food. People have also applied it to their hair and skin for centuries. Olive oil is used as a skin moisturiser and hair oil.
Calendula Oil – according to “The New Age Herbalist,” calendula is traditional remedy for wounds, scars, stings, varicose veins, calluses and warts. It has antifungal, antibacterial and anti-flammatory properties. In combination with other healing ingredients calendula ointment can effectively treat and heal scar tissue.
Comfrey Oil – many of the beneficial properties of comfrey are attributed to its high content of allantoin, a substance that helps promote new skin cell growth, along with other substances that may work in reducing inflammation and maintaining healthy skin. Great for small rashes not for deep wounds.
Macadamia Oil – it contains squalene which is a naturally occurring antioxidant in our body, it can help reduce oxidative stress on the skin, helping to prevent wrinkles, age spots, slow healing rates, and other signs of aging. It is anti-inflammatory nature and helps soothe the skin and moisturise it.
Aloe Vera Oil – Because aloe oil contains the health properties of the original aloe vera plant, it possesses anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, antifungal, antioxidant and astringent activity. Is also known for its ability to promote skin health. The Ancient Egyptians valued the plant as a treatment for infections, rashes, and burns, and referred to it as the “plant of immortality.” Other civilizations, such as the Arabs, Greeks, and Spaniards used it. It relieves itching; accelerate the healing of wounds, and as a moisturising agent, due to its ability to relieve pain and inflammation.
Treatment for insect bites. This plant oil can also be used to help treat swelling and inflammation caused by insect bites especially mosquito bites. It contains Vitamins C, A (beta-carotene), E (alpha-tocopherol), B1, B2, and B6 (choline and folic acid), iron, copper, magnesium, calcium, manganese, sodium, and potassium, 20 amino acids.
Avocado Oil – The antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents in avocado oil help your skin stay smooth, strong, and elastic. It can calm itchy skin, heal chapped skin, replenish dry skin, hydrate and moisturise skin, shield skin from ultraviolet radiation and protect against skin damage.
Lavender Oil, that all-around remedy for so many ailments, is good for your skin too. It has antibacterial and antifungal properties and can thus promote wound healing, healthy skin cell formation, and help with acne, wrinkles, psoriasis, and other inflammatory conditions.
Rosemary Essential Oil – thanks to its antiseptic and antibacterial properties, it is effective against a range of skin conditions, including dermatitis, eczema, acne, and many other conditions that usually cause scars. It also helps eliminate dryness and adds a glow to your skin.
Chamomile Essential Oil – are great to reduce inflammation and soothes dry, itchy skin patches.
Tea Tree Essential Oil – helps prevent the infections that often occur from scratching at eczema.
Eucalyptus Essential Oil – Due to its antiseptic properties, eucalyptus oil can be used for treating minor cuts, wounds, blisters, bumps, boils, insect bites, and other similar skin problems.
Lemon Essential Oil – contains powerful properties such as vitamin C and citric acid that aid to safeguard the skin cells against premature aging. It easily penetrates the body to increase the circulation of blood and boost collagen production. Can be used to treat rough skin patches. Reduces oils production in the skin, great for acne, great insect repellent. It is astringent, antiseptic, antifungal, anti-infection, anti-inflammatory, and antispasmodic.
Caution lemon oil has photosensitivity properties. If you have applied on the skin, ensure that you have avoided the exposure of sunlight as can lead to skin pigmentation. The lemon in the rub is very minimum, even below caution needs to be said. Perfect to put on before going to bed.
