Ultimate Beauty Sleep

Do you toss and turn restlessly at night? Have trouble falling asleep… or staying asleep? Sleeplessness can be due to a number of factors, but it’s often related to a nervous system, excitement or stress.

There is an alternative natural treatments such as aromatherapy and bush flowers which greatly help reduce insomnia.  Because of the profound impact of essential oils and other aromas on the brain, essential oils are one of the most powerful natural tools that aid in relaxation, lowering stress levels, and getting a good night’s sleep.

Lavinia Botanica Ultimate Beauty Sleep rub can be added to your bath or there is other ways you can use essential oils to help you sleep. Take a few minutes when you climb into bed to massage the rub into the soles of your feet, your chest area, and your hands. This will create a gentle, soothing massage that will help you rest. The natural fragrances not only induce feelings of calm, the massaging motion will help you wind down and soothe tired muscles. A bedtime ritual like this is often helpful in communicating to your mind that it is time to sleep. Lavinia Botanica Ultimate Beauty Sleep rub can also be used in an oil burner to help to relax your mind and body.  Below are a few essential oils in the combination and why I have included in the formula.

Lavender is gentle and soothing and calming. The aroma will allow the mind to relax, and will help you fall asleep.  Scientific evidence suggests that aromatherapy with lavender may slow the activity of the nervous system, improve sleep quality, promote relaxation, and lift mood in people suffering from sleep disorders. Studies also suggest that massage with essential oils, particularly lavender, may result in improved sleep quality, more stable mood, better concentration, and reduced anxiety. In one recent study, people who received massage with lavender felt less anxious. In Germany lavender has been approved to use a type of specie of lavender as a tea for insomnia, restlessness, and nervous stomach irritations.

Bergamot and Orange oil lifts the spirit up, eases tension is relatively relaxing it is great for treatment for people that are depressed. It is phototoxic and the skin needs to avoid exposer to the sun or UV rays for least 2 hours before going out.

Clary Sage – can be used for nervous tension, stress, depression, anxiety, insomnia and menopause. It is particularly effective to help ease depression and create a more positive outlook on life and can also help to boost the creative side and intuition.

Ylang Ylang promotes calmness, and reduces stress, making it a good option for unwinding and de-stressing at the end of a long day.

Chamomile is a natural anti-depressant; it relaxes the nerves and conditions the central nervous system functioning properly and in good health. It is good at relaxing the nervous system, which reduces panic attacks and muscle tension.

Vetiver has been used throughout in many different cultures for many different reasons from its healing abilities to ceremonies. In India and Sri Lanka it is known as the oil of tranquillity.

Benzoin being a stimulant and anti-depressant on the one hand is a relaxant and sedative on the other. It relieves anxiety, tension, nervousness and stress. Actually it brings the nervous system and neurotic system to normal. That is why, in case of depression, it gives a feeling of mood-uplift and in case of anxiety and stress, it relaxes. It also has tranquillising effects. Thus it may not be used by students, particularly during exams, when they intend to study overnight.

To complement the formula I added Bush Flower Essence which is made from Australian plants for the emotional side.

Black Eyed Susan Essence – Black Eyed Susan is for people who are impatient or always ‘on the go’. These people are continually rushing and their lives are always overflowing with commitments.

Boronia Essence – is helpful for those sleepless nights when you cannot calm those repetitive thoughts from the mind.

Crowea Essence – For people who are feeling ‘not quite right’ with themselves and are just a little out of balance.

Green Spider Orchid Essence and Grey Spider Essence – For nightmares and phobias.

I do recommend for customers to visit their local Doctor GP and go on Melatonin and to take magnesium.   These natural products also help if you have insomnia.
